Super Nintendo Entertainment System

Here’s a console that still gets hours of play time and for me more then any other console it’s the SNES created by Nintendo and first available in 1990. In Japan its called Sthe Super Family Computer or Super Famicom.

Being the second home system of Nintendo the SNES was a worldwide success easily becoming the best selling console of the time. Coming to the market shortly after the Sega Genesis the Super Nintendo faced serious compitition however it still managed to climb above the Genesis as far as sales went.

Despide a slow CPU the Super Nintendo featured advanced sound and graphics over the other conosles that were currently on the market. Enhancement chips were even shipped out for certain games, this aided in keeping the console alive by bringing out new technologies for it.

One interesting fact of the Super Nintendo is that it kept popular as far up to the 32bit era and to this day the Super Nintendo is still played often in homes across the globe. Nintendo finally dropped support for the console a few years back and knockoffs such as the FC Twin and many other consoles soon hit the market.

Super Mario World came packaged with the Super Nintendo and became a huge hit on its own, with the great games, accessories such as the Super Scope and Mario Paint the SNES has lived on for many many years.
