Spiderman on the Atari 2600

Spider-Man is an action video game released in 1982 by Parker Brothers for the Atari 2600. It was the first video game to feature Spider-Man.

In 1982 Parker Brothers released Spider-Man an action video game for the Atari 2600. Everyone knows Spider-Man but for the 2600? Well Mario Bros, Superman, Star Wars and many more were released for this system so why not Spider-Man. The game basically involves players controlling Spider-Man as he scales buildings using his web shooters. He must defuse bombs planted by his enemy the Green Goblin. Unfortunately Spider-Man is only allowed to use his web lines to move up buildings and if he’s touched by an enemy he will loose the line and fall.

Retro Video Games

Once he reaches the top of the building he faces the Green Goblin. This actually sounds a lot like Mattel’s Beauty and the Beast for the Intellivision but in theory I think Mattel took the idea from this game.

Here’s a review from a YouTuber.
