Quality Consoles compaired to Cheap Consoles

Now this is a subject I usually talk about with my friends. They go on and on about how great their XBoX 360 and their Play Station 3 is, they boast high def graphics and games. They usually mock my Super Nintendo, Atari 2600 and even my Play Station 2, which in turn they had before they purchased their new consoles.

While stating how great their console is I put out the point that both my friends XBoX’s have died and needed to be taken in for repair, I read on the internet a similar post from a guy complaining about the build quality of his PS3 and how it stopped working while his older consoles which are 25 years plus are still in working order.

Now before you get on my case and say how the XBoX and PS3 have more components and higher processors and that’s the reason why they need to work harder and break down, why not consider the actual build quality of these?

Both Sony and Microsoft rush these consoles out to the market without caring the possibilities of failure. I mean if a console breaks down the road they can afford to replace it because at launch when everyone decided to pay 500 or more for a video game console (RIDICULOUS) they don’t loose much money because their console would have dropped hundreds in price.

The consoles of the past had excellent build quality. I love my Super Nintendo and my Sega Genesis and they both worked fine until I put them away, I use an FC twin now just for the convince of having the ability to play both NES and SNES.

I’ll end this post saying my Super Nintendo will outlive any of these new consoles and will still be my all time favorite. These other consoles are overpriced junk and I refuse to pay that kind of money no matter how much my friends boast and bother me about getting a new console.
