Nintendo Week - Super Scope 6

super scope 6

It’s Monday again time to get back to work and somehow that sparked an idea to do a week long look at Nintendo accessories for the Super Nintendo. I decided that we would start off with the Super Scope 6 since it hasn’t been that long since I enjoyed playing it.

The Super Scope was released by Nintendo in the early 90’s and only worked with maybe six games. The gun itself is quite big and much larger then the earlier Nintendo Light Gun. While I though it was fun to play many other games said otherwise.

The main problem with the Super Scope 6 is the battery life and how it takes 6 batteries to power the gun. Other problems include eye strain and arm strain from the way you hold the gun to play. The Super Scope can be found on eBay for a fair price so it’s not to collectible, at least not yet.

The Super Scope was not very popular and never really took off but it’s still fun to give these old accessories a go even if they are shunned by the video game community. I mean we are retro gamers so we should at least give them a chance because you never know you may have fun playing them.
