Nintendo Power Pad
Every now and then I come across something unique in the retro gaming community. I’m a collector myself and usually purchase the odd item even though it will probably sit in my closet with my Atari 2600, Atari XE, Mattel Intellivision and other peripherals, however I’m still pretty excited about this purchase.
My buddy at work was selling off some of his collection and I was lucky enough to purchase a Nintendo Power Pad from him for 10 dollars. I had no games to play with it yet but that will soon change once I find a copy of World Class Track Meet or Super Team Games.
For those who don’t know anything about the Nintendo Power Pad here’s a little history. The Nintendo Power Pad was created in 1988 by Bandai. However Nintendo bought the rights to it and released it as a family fitness pack in 1989. The Power Pad was packaged with World Class Track Meet.
I can remember a younger version of me playing this and World Class Track meet at my friends place in the early 90’s. It was a great accessory to the NES as long as you had the right games for it.
Now that I have the pad I’ll have to get my NES working and find a few games for it. The Power Pad is a great addition to any Nintendo collector and for those who love to have a few beers and play games over the weekend.
