Mario Paint for Super Nintendo Review

I can remember when I was younger I would always visit the video game store down the road to see if this game was in. Of course if it wasen’t I would make due playing the great games I already owned but sometimes I would get lucky and it would be available for rent.

Soon my birthday came along and my mom bought me my own copy of Mario Paint, I was one excited gamer. I loved Mario when I was a kid so this game was very exciting considering the number of things you could do in the game itself.

You could make music, paint photos, play games, make your own stamps and loads more of fun things. For those who don’t know Mario Paint was released by Nintendo in 1992 and it used the Nintendo Mouse. The game also came with the mousepad and had features such as 60 different textures, 75 different stamps and 15 customizable stamps.

The game was rated on Nintendo Power’s top 200 game list of all time and personally I think it deserves that honorable mention. The game itself was almost like a mini computer and many would think why make a game out of that when there is already computers that can do it better. Well because it’s Mario and its on your Super Nintendo.

This game started my love of graphic design. Sure its pretty simple compared to Photoshop but it was sure enough for a ten year old boy who loved video games and didn’t know the first thing about computers.
