How to collect retro games

This might be an obvious post but I figured I would lend some of my own taticts when it comes to collecting games. There are several stages when it comes to collecting games for me.
1. Think about the type of games you want to collect. You first choose a console to start with so lets say Super Nintendo, now that you have chosen the type of games to collect your ready to start.
2. Buy the console for the games you are going to be collecting. Many old games do not work as well as they did when they were new so you could be buying something that is worthless. Make sure your games work if you buy them from a used video game store, or make sure the eBay seller is a trusted seller.
3. Now that you know the type of games to collect and you have the console to play them you now need to know where to look to buy these games. First you can try searching the wild, start your search at yard sales, pawn shops, buy sell and trade, thrift stores, flee markets, etc.
4. Once you have searched the wild you can check online, eBay for example is a great place and you have a great chance of finding what you are looking for on there. Amazon is another good source and there are many online stores that sell used games as well.
5. When you finally found the game you’ve been searching for make sure you check the condition and if it comes with the games manual, box and anything else the game would have came with brand new. This all depends on how serious of a collector you are, some collectors like me are fine with just the game but others need it complete in order to buy it.
6. Make a list of games for the console, Wikipedia usually provides complete lists of games for various old consoles such as the Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System, Genesis, etc.. this way you can check what you have purchased and what you need.
I hope these little steps help you out, this is what I usually go by when it comes to collecting vintage games. Besides collecting them they are always great fun to play with friends and family.

Nice writing style. Looking forward to reading more from you.
