How to change a SNES battery
There comes a time when every gamer brings out their favorite SNES RPG and plugs it in only to find out that their saved game was deleted! I turned on my FC Twin the other day and plugged in Arcana one of my all time favorite RPG’s for the SNES and was greatly disappointed.
I knew the battery was dying because this has happened before in the past, but I went ahead anyway and turned on the game only to find my saved game gone. Other games in my library have also had this problem: Final Fantasy 2(4), Mystic Quest, Arcana and Super Mario World have all succumbed to this.
I wanted to do some work on the games myself but was afraid incase I damaged the game itself, so I started to research on how to repair this myself without having to send my game away to a repair tech.
Here’s some useful links I’ve found on the web that might be of help when it comes to changing a battery.
You can get replacement battery’s at the Nintendorepairshop.com or eBay.com

Both Cheapassgamer.com and Racketboy.com have instructions on how to go about changing the battery.
Please note that if you are unsure of what your doing take the game to a professional and ask him/her to do the work for you. You might ruin the game by accident and not be able to have it repaired at all.
