Happy Belated Birthday Sonic!

Well we missed his actual birthday that was on June 23 but we’d like to throw this happy birthday out either way. Sure he’s a video game character but he is Sega’s star after all so why not?
Sonic the Hedgehog was first released in North America in 1991 and in Europe as well on June 23. During this time period Sonic was a big competitor with the Nintendo mascot Mario. When Sonic first came out for the Sega it was a totally new experience for us all.
I love Mario games and all but come on a blue hedge hog speeding though colorful levels collecting rings… yes rings not coins and spinning around obstacles like a ferris wheel.
Sonic is still going strong today and you can see him in some video games such as Mario Olympics. Happy Belated Sonic!
