Game Boy

The handheld game that everyone remembers, it’s the little grey box that almost fits in your pocket. The Game Boy created by Nintnedo was first released back in 1989 and usually game with the game Tetris. If you combine both consoles together the Game Boy Color and Game Boy have sold close to 118.7 million across the world as of 2006.

Released in the fourth generation of video games the Game boy was based off of the Nintendo Entertainment System however this being portable. It had the same buttons as a NES controller would have, took four AA batteries, and had a built in screen.

One problem with the Game Boy is lack of light on the screen as it was hard to play in a dark setting. There were later accessories released to combat this problem however the accessories were bulky parts that would fit over the screen making it less like a portable system.

Gamers were able to link their Game Boys together so they could play games, battle and even connect to a Game Boy Printer. Some other accessories included the Game Boy Camera, Battery Back and of course the Game Boy Link Cable.
