DK Tribute: Day 4 - Donkey Kong Country Music and Graphics
Some gamers believe this to be true while others would disagree, in Donkey Kong Country I believe the graphics are top notch and outstanding for the time period in which the game was released. The graphics are sharp and colorful keeping you hooked to the game.
Being a musician myself this is a topic I usually always touch when it comes to video games. The music soundtrack of Donkey Kong Country is incredible and is a must for all to hear. The music of each level is very much different.
The music also fits so well in each level you play in sometimes sounding very mysterious or upbeat. The music is mostly jungle-based sounds which is understandable considering its based in the jungle however songs such as Aquatic Ambiance or Northern Hemispheres (water and snow levels) are very mysterious and creative.
Donkey Kong Country I believe had the best music over the two sequels that followed, however its for you to decide which you liked more. You can buy the actual soundtrack of the game from various stores on the internet.
Music in video games is very important, sometimes if you play a game and find that the music is poor quality it will take away from the game play itself. You will be playing a game for example and the music is so poor or annoying you either want to turn it off or mute the game.
Donkey Kong Country in this case you want to have the music nice and loud and play though level by level. If you play the video above you will hear an example of the underwater music of the game. However if your reading this you have probably already hear it by playing the game.
I have talked a lot about the music but what about the graphics of Donkey Kong Country? Well Rare did use a new technology on the game when it was first released. They used a pre-rendering 3-D engine and the graphics were stunning for the time.
The game is very colorful and plays very well as you pass though the levels. Each level is very different from one another and like I said above very colorful. I find in certain Super Nintendo games that the color is very good and that’s important to a great game.
