History of Video Games

Video games have been around for public use since the 1970’s so I think its about time this video was released. It gives a nice example of how video games have evolved from simple blocks to advanced 3D almost life like graphics.

Final Fantasy 4 Gift

Was pretty happy the other day as my friend dropped off a copy of Final Fantasy for the Super Nintendo for my birthday gift. I was in luck because my current copy of the game was having problems with the save game which is basically a battery going dead.

Street Fighter II Turbo And My Collection

It’s come to that time where I need to sell off most of my collection. I am still keeping many of my classic games but due to the lack of space in my apartment most of my beloved games, consoles and accessories need to find a new home.

Several issues with the FC Twin Console

When I first heard about a video game console that can play both Nintendo and Super Nintendo games I searched the web for it to read up on it. The FC Twin seemed like a sure thing however some games would not work with the console.

Weekend Gamer

Its funny that I have a video game blog and yet I don’t play video games that much anymore. When I was younger I loved playing video games but as I grew older my interests moved on to things like guitars, music, web design, nature etc.

This is post 100!

That’s right VG Retro has so far had 100 posts since early 2008, sure there should be more but we’re usually busy doing other things like playing video games for one. I was talking to my friend who I work with and told him it’s about time I break out Final Fantasy 4 for the [...]

Super Mario Bros DS Cake

Here’s a great looking cake that I wouldn’t mind for my birthday, probably take quite some time but either way a very cool idea. I find that Nintendo is used everywhere, I posted a little while ago how people were constructing Nintendo scenes from Lego.

Remembering the RPG Classics

We have all played Final Fantasy 4, Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, Lufia, Breath of Fire, Secret of Mana, Arcana and many more but how many of you pick up the game, dust off your old SNES and play it once a year?

Can’t find an original, port it!

Players who want to be taken back to the glory days of gaming (16-bit and back) have a couple options to get their retro gaming fix. For one, they can dust off the old console or buy one of the many clone console available today. Or, if they, like me, took their NES apart so [...]

Quality Consoles compaired to Cheap Consoles

Now this is a subject I usually talk about with my friends. They go on and on about how great their XBoX 360 and their Play Station 3 is, they boast high def graphics and games. They usually mock my Super Nintendo, Atari 2600 and even my Play Station 2, which in turn they had [...]

RPG Game Sprites

I looked up my favorite Final Fantasy for the Super Nintendo today and found some really cool sprites that can be used for graphics, games or whatever you feel like.

Video Game Rant: Keep up with the times!

My friends always wondered why I never bother to go out and get the latest video game console on the market. Well for one they are poorly built as I can recall many of my friends who purchased an XBoX 360 and was disappointed when it would no longer work shortly after they have [...]
