Changes to be made…….. again

Hello everyone,
I’ll be making some more changes to the blog shortly hopefully with the new changes things will be easier to find on the site. I want to have VG Retro eventually become a great source for retro gaming and provide it’s viewers with video game reviews, photos, information, video and much more.

Super Mario Kart for Super Nintendo Review

The classic Super Nintendo game that spanned many other games of its type is one game that we all remember when growing up. The first game in the series Super Mario Kart was released in 1992 by Nintendo for their Super Nintendo.

History of Video Games

Video games have been around for public use since the 1970’s so I think its about time this video was released. It gives a nice example of how video games have evolved from simple blocks to advanced 3D almost life like graphics.

Final Fantasy 4 Gift

Was pretty happy the other day as my friend dropped off a copy of Final Fantasy for the Super Nintendo for my birthday gift. I was in luck because my current copy of the game was having problems with the save game which is basically a battery going dead.

Street Fighter II Turbo And My Collection

It’s come to that time where I need to sell off most of my collection. I am still keeping many of my classic games but due to the lack of space in my apartment most of my beloved games, consoles and accessories need to find a new home.

Wizard of Wor Review for the Atari 2600

Even for today’s standards my brother and I had fun playing this game. I mean there is a PlayStation 2 and sometimes a Nintendo Wii sitting there but instead we took out the old Atari 2500 and slapped in some Wizard of Wor and started playing.
Originally developed as an arcade came in the early 1980’s [...]

The Gaming Historian - The NES 2 (Top Loader)

Very interested and informative video about the NES 2 Top Loader system that was released by Nintendo in 1993. He has lots of great information about this console that is not very common. Having being released shortly before the Nintendo Entertainment System was on it’s way out the door.

Nintendo Week - Super Game Boy

I can remember first using this and thinking what a great idea it was to be able to play my game boy games on my Super Nintendo. I used to play my Game Boy Final Fantasy games on my SNES along with Final Fantasy 4 and Final Fantasy 6.

Nintendo Week - SNES Mouse

I though we would now talk about one of my favorite games and a great accessory that came with it, it’s the SNES Mouse. When I was a kid I would go to the video game store pretty much every day to see if Mario paint was available for rent. I was usually turned down [...]

Nintendo Week - Super Scope 6

It’s Monday again time to get back to work and somehow that sparked an idea to do a week long look at Nintendo accessories for the Super Nintendo. I decided that we would start off with the Super Scope 6 since it hasn’t been that long since I enjoyed playing it.

Several issues with the FC Twin Console

When I first heard about a video game console that can play both Nintendo and Super Nintendo games I searched the web for it to read up on it. The FC Twin seemed like a sure thing however some games would not work with the console.

Sorcerer’s Kingdom for Sega Genesis Review

I just recently purchased this game off eBay complete with manual and box, pretty excited to get this game. I have played it years ago when I rented it from a video game store and remember it being a fun role-playing game with good music, graphics and a decent storyline.
